Backup & Restore Module
Data Backup can target data from endpoints, servers, systems and public or private cloud, IaaS, SaaS and collaboration tools. It can be contracted independently, to support systems outside Matrix's infrastructure, or as an option for Enterprise Hosting, Co Location or Cloud Computing services, used to ensure data recovery in case of physical or logical failure in the data layer. infrastructure: Functional or operational failure at the application level.
Its single console makes it easy to centralize, automate and monitor backup and data protection services. Through customizable backup policies by Matrix or by the Client. It includes centralized management of backup activities, their scheduling and monitoring. Enables you to meet compliance requirements for enterprise and regulatory backups, disaster recovery for virtual and physical workloads, wherever they are, in the data center, on-premise, or in public clouds.
Allows you to centrally define and manage backup policies, and monitor the status of routines. Enables granular restoration of an individual file or an entire directory, database tables or records, mailboxes or email messages, and application structures. The solution supports the restoration and conversion of:
- Physical to virtual servers and vice versa;
- Physical servers for physicists
- Virtual to Virtual Servers
The advanced Backup & Restore module includes:
- Scheduled Backup Reports: Increase data protection visibility and simplify auditing with backup reports delivered as PDF or Excel files in a format. templates for recipients listed on a scheduled basis.
- Notarization and electronic signature of backup files: Strengthen data protection with capabilities to verify the authenticity and integrity of backup files through signature recognition. Authenticate files electronically with a publicly verifiable digital signature.
- Application Cluster Backup and Restore: Ease the IT administrative burden with built-in capabilities for easy backup and recovery of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle DBMS Real Application Cluster clusters.
- SAP HANA Backup: Strengthen SAP Hana database protection with consistent disk-level, script-based backups that simplify management and require no knowledge of SAP Hana.
Backup Management
Backup and Cyber Protect services are available with the option of customer management, or management by Matrix. In the case of a management option by the customer, the customer is responsible for administering his console, creating backup policies, and eventually restoring data.
In case the customer chooses to manage backups through Matrix, the data center will be responsible for administering the Backup console, and must have a user with platform administration credential. If the Matrix administrative user is disabled by the client, the client will be notified and no action will be taken until the access is corrected.
Backup in Cloud Computing / Enterprise Hosting Environments with Matrix Management Option:
The implementation of the solution includes the creation of backup policies for the servers. Once a day, in the morning, jobs will be checked for errors and submitted in the tool. If a new failure occurs, which will only be verified in the next cycle, the Matrix team will inform the customer to check their server. If the server is within Matrix's management scope, it will be accessed for verification and the jobs submitted again. Eight technical hours are included for answering calls and queries in the month, non-cumulative, and if you exceed this volume, technical hours will be budgeted for performance.
Backup in Colocation Environments, on-premise, in third-party infrastructure, or with Customer Management option:
If the second failure is found, the customer will be notified and will have to open a ticket informing them as soon as the problem is corrected. For servers that are not present in Matrix and/or that are not managed by Matrix, in case of need for access to it, support hours will be charged. If the problem is proven to be related to the client's operating system settings, technical hours will be budgeted for its resolution.
If the client chooses to solve problems through Matrix, the estimated hours will be charged to the client, in a minimum volume of three hours of work. Analysts will not be moved to the customer's environment, the customer being responsible for this task. All remote access must be provided by the customer's technical team, preferably using secure VPN, with the standard remote access protocols of the operating systems. Alternative means of access will not be used, with the installation of third-party applications that deviate from the standard of the standard access protocols of operating systems (eg Windows can be accessed through RDP protocol and Linux through SSH, both on their standard TC ports) .
The Matrix team will assist in the process of one restoration per month, with the entire infrastructure to be provided by the client, and the Matrix team's role will be to guide the restoration process, which must be carried out by the client's team.
