“It is not company size that defines whether or not to outsource a data center,” said the specialist.

The modern world requires non-stop connectivity for all and any business.

Until a short while ago it was company size that defined the need to outsource IT resources with a specialized company. Currently companies of all sizes need to be connected full-time, as business is an ongoing activity.

“Previously, outsourcing was only considered when there was a large volume of information that needed management; retaining a data center currently is determined by the assurance of data availability,” asserted Matrix VP of operations Eber Lacerda Junior.

Another aspect in favor of outsourcing is flexibility, even for small and medium companies. “Small businesses may currently experience accelerated growth as occurs with the so-called start-ups, and require increased capacity from one day to the next. Companies should have a good IT partner in order to meet sudden demand satisfactorily,” stressed Lacerda Junior.

The executive listed other aspects in favor of IT outsourcing, valid for companies of all sizes: data center security, with redundant systems for the supply of electricity and state-of-the-art generators that ensure ongoing access to data. “What changes is cost.  Small companies adopt differentiated storage systems with less capacity and therefore with more accessible costs," he concluded.
