The Runner gym network migrates its IT structure to the Matrix Data Center

Commitment and transparency were important aspects in the company’s decision

A reference in fitness and well-being, the Runner gym network started a brand licensing project intended to establish its facilities throughout the country.

The company has been active since 1983 in the São Paulo market and currently has over 35 thousand customers enrolled and roughly 30 different kinds of classes for a variety of tastes and levels of physical fitness. By means of its modern infrastructure, the group provides space and guidance for an ample range of physical activities, from bodybuilding to pilates and dancing.  Keeping pace with this growth, Runner felt the need to migrate its IT structure to a reliable company.

Runner’s director of technology Rubens Rodrigues asserted that from their introduction Matrix and its team had shown themselves transparent and committed to the project. Rodrigues adds: “We previously had problems in another data center, with constant downtime and slow service. When we migrated to Matrix we no longer had this kind of incident. Even during peak periods the response is always efficient, conveying security and stability in our transactions.

Runner hosts its own servers in the Matrix environment by means of co-location. Rodrigues also stressed that “in addition to data security, there is an advantage of a constantly monitored and controlled environment, with high availability levels. This is the assurance that the entire operation is always flowing.”

The director of technology explained that Runner made substantial investments in developing exclusive software and other management tools. “These efforts would be of no value without the assurance of availability and redundancy that only a company such as Matrix could provide,” concluded Rodrigues.
